The house rules of the Mind Bloggling project are designed to ensure the aims of the project are met. The aims and objectives of the project are to: · Reduce stigma and discrimination · Portray a positive perception of mental health issues · Develop an on-line community · Improve ICT skills and opportunities for participants · Assist in improving the mental health of participants These rules exist to protect the interests of all users of the Mind Bloggling web site, please respect them. Any breaches of these rules may result in the blogs being permanently removed from the site. 1. Safety - Exercise caution when revealing personal information (for example, it is not advisable to reveal your telephone number, home address, work place or places you regularly visit). - Avoid being specific when referring to medication, use general terms, such as anti-depressants. What works for you, might not work for someone else. - When commenting on people's blogs, be respectful and supportive and value their opinion even if it disagrees with your own. 2 . We reserve the right to remove blogs which: - Are considered likely to disrupt, provoke attack or offend others - Are racist, sexist, homophobic, sexually explicit, abusive or otherwise objectionable - Contain language likely to offend - Break the law or condone or encourage unlawful activity. This includes defamation. - Advertise products or services for profit or gain - Are seen to impersonate someone else - Describe or encourage activities which could endanger the safety or well-being of others - Are considered to be 'spam', that is posts containing the same, or similar, message posted multiple times. - Are considered to be inappropriate for a web site with a mental health focus - Contain links to other web sites that provide content in breach of these rules 3. The Law - You may not submit any defamatory or illegal material of any nature, including text, graphics, video or audio. - Contributing material with the intention of committing or promoting an illegal act is strictly prohibited. - You agree to only submit materials which are you own original work. You must not violate, plagarise, or infringe the right of third parties including copyright, trade mark, trade secrets, privacy, publicity, personal or proprietary rights. - The views expressed in the Mind Bloggling web blogs are those of members of the public and are not necessarily those of Media Action Group for Mental health who are responsible for the management of the Mind Bloggling project. If you breach these terms of use: - If you fail to abide by these house rules when participating in the Mind Bloggling project, you will be sent an email asking you to remove the post and the reasons why and your account will be temporally removed from the site. If you fail to remove the post we will permanently remove the link from our site to your blog. If the blog is hosted by the Mind Bloggling web site, the post will be removed and an email will be forwarded detailing the reasons for the removal, along with a warning that continuing to break the rules may result in your permanent removal from the site as a contributor. - Repeated breaches of these house rules may result in the your permanent removal from the Mind Bloggling project's web site. - The Media Action Group for Mental Health reserves the right to delete any contribution at any time, for any reason. These terms will be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
